【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodfordeterminingthegeltimeofphenolicresinsatagiventemperature,usingautomaticapparatusunderspecifiedconditions.Thetesttemperaturesare100℃,130℃and150℃.Themethodspecifiedemploysaplungerdriventocarryoutareciprocatingverticalmotion.Thismethodappliestothefollowingtypesofphenolicresin:-liquidresols-solidresolswithlowmeltingpointsPowderedresinswithashortgeltime,suchasmixturesofnovolakandhexamethylenetetramine,donotlendthemselvestothistypeofdetermination.Suchresinscrosslinkassoonasfusionstartsandbecometooviscousinthetesttubetogivemeaningfulresults.Resinscontaininglargeamountsofasolventwithalowboilingpointareespeciallyunsuitableforthistypeofdetermination.Withsuchresins,aboilinganddistillationprocesstakesplaceastheresinhardens.Itmightbeofinteresttodeterminethetimetakenfortheresintogelinthepresenceofacatalyst.Thecatalystshallbeaddedinwelldefinedproportions.Thetypeofcatalystusedanditstreatmentshallbestatedinthetestreport.
