【摘要】:UraniumhexafluorideusedtoproducenuclearfuelmustmeetcertaincriteriaforitsisotopiccompositionasdescribedinSpecificationsC787andC996.1.1Thismethodappliestothedeterminationsofisotopiccompositioninhydrolyzednucleargradeuraniumhexafluoride.Itcoversisotopicabundanceof235Ubetween0.1and5.0%massfraction,abundanceof234Ubetween0.0055and0.05%massfraction,andabundanceof236Ubetween0.0003and0.5%massfraction.Thistestmethodmaybeapplicabletootherisotopicabundanceprovidingthatcorrespondingstandardsareavailable.1.2Thistestmethodcanapplytouranylnitratesolutions.Thiscanbeachievedeitherbytransformingtheuranylnitratesolutiontoauranylfluoridesolutionpriortothedepositiononthefilamentsordirectlybydepositingtheuranylnitratesolutiononthefilaments.Inthelattercase,acalibrationwithuranylnitratestandardsmustbeperformed.1.3Thistestmethodcanalsoapplytoothernucleargradematrices(forexample,uraniumoxides)byprovidingachemicaltransformationtouranylfluorideoruranylnitratesolution.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
