【摘要】:Theproceduresoutlinedherearegroundedinthegenerallyacceptedbodyofknowledgeandexperienceinthefieldofforensicdocumentexamination.Byfollowingtheseprocedures,aforensicdocumentexaminercanreliablyreachanopinionconcerningwhethertwoormoreimpressionshaveacommonoriginorifarubberstampimpressionwascreatedbyaspecificrubberstamp.1.1Thisguideprovidesproceduresthatshouldbeusedbyforensicdocumentexaminers(E444)forexaminationsandcomparisonsinvolvingrubberstampsandtheirimpressions.1.2Theseproceduresareapplicablewhethertheexamination(s)andcomparison(s)isofquestionedandknownitemsorofexclusivelyquestioneditems.1.3Theseproceduresincludeevaluationofthesufficiencyofthematerialavailableforexamination.1.4Theparticularmethodsemployedinagivencasewilldependuponthenatureandsufficiencyofthematerialavailableforexamination.1.5Thisguidemaynotcoverallaspectsofparticularlyunusualoruncommonexaminations.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
